The 2011 Ruby Falls Haunted Cavern will feature a disturbing cast of characters from Baranabus Hale's Menagerie of the Macabre Traveling Side Show.

Paranormal Investigators discovered a cryptic book which possessed special powers. Unearthing this book brought back to life Barnabus and the entire decrepit side show, who revitalize themselves by unwitting guests that stumble into their Menagerie. The book also troubled the phantoms trapped deep within Lookout Mountain.

Today, paranomal phenomena and haunting tales of the Ruby Falls lower cave system team with apparitions and other such characters, and the horrifying traveling side show which resides above ground.

The Traveling Side Show displays such horrifying chracters as Madame LeRoux the side show's bearded lady, Babbles the Butcher, Lorraine the Living Doll, Willard the Lizard Boy, and Rikkets the Clown, among many others. Conversely, the lower cave system features apparitions and transformational portals.

Barnabus Hale (Owner/Manager)

The Hale family founded the Side Show in 1880. Barnabus was the latest family member to inherit the show. His life of debauchery led to the financial strain of the Side Show. His charisma is sometimes overshadowed by his violent nature.

Madame LeRoux (The Bearded Lady)

Madame LeRoux 'the bearded lady', unlike the other Side Show family members, embraced her oddity. Infatuated with hair, Madame LeRoux was constantly preening and brushing her beard and hair. Her love for hair led Madame LeRoux to start collecting the scalps from the trail of bodies left by Barnabus. Her scalps have become like children as she has named and brushed each one daily.

Babbles (The Butcher)

Babbles suffered physical damage from a corrupt upbringing which led to him being a dimwitted and naive lackey of Barnabus. Babbles entertains children by day but by night he relishes in the mutilation and pain of the Side Show victims.

SlaughterJacks

Barnabus Hale's team of brothers that hunt and drag victims back for the slaughter. Being bullies as children, their continuous bouts with the law led them to seek sanctuary within the Side Show. Realizing their value, Barnabus dubbed them his 'SlaughterJacks'.

Cookie

Cookie was hired on to be an entertainer with the other clowns. After several incidents, Cookie soon realized you can't kill the patrons in the middle of the midway or in a patron filled tent. Barnabus banned Cookie to the kitchen where he would never forget to keep the kills clean and in private. Cookie still enjoys getting into makeup; even if it's just to prepare a meal or quietly cut on another victim who haplessly strays into the mess tent.

Fire Brigade

These friends were hired on by Barnabus to eliminate any evidence of wrong doing. it's hard to prove anything from mere Ashes and Soot.

Lady Morgan Thrailkill and Jenny

Lady Morgan Thrailkill, the would-be bride, daughter of one of the wealthiest plantation owners in GA, born in 1950. Born the same day as the servant's child, the Trailkill's first born was disfigured and not expected to live. The father's pride caused him to make a horrific decision...to swap the servant's daughter with his own; the only witness was the nurse maid. The servant was a gypsy who had previously belonged to a traveling side show. 13 days before the Lady's wedding, the servant discovered her true identity. The elderly nurse revealed the Thrailkill family secret to the servant with her dying breath. On that day, the servant cried, which was when the rain began and continued for 13 straight days. On June 13th 1866, the day of the Lady's wedding at the Thrailkill Estate atop Lookout Mountain, the string quartet had begun to play the wedding march. Just as the Lady was getting ready to exit the study to walk down the aisle the land beneath the study broke away from the house and washed down the side of the mountain taking the Lady and the servant with it. The bodies of the Lady and servant were never seen again...until now...as their restless souls have been awakened by The Libre of Vereor, releasing their fury on all who trespass in their unconsecrated tomb.

Elizabeth Kruesi

Elizabeth Kruesi is the restless spirit of the daughter of the Kruesi family who roams the caves of Lookout Mountain, looking for revenge for the murder of her and her family.

Noma

Born within the Torture Area of a Mad Man for one of his captured victims. The Mad Man did not get rid of the child; instead he raised her in the chamber alone. Well unless you include the numerous victims he brought there. The child ate what she could to survive and slowly learned to speak from listening to the victims; she calls herself Noma.

Lorraine (The Living Doll)

A vain and eclectic lifestyle ended tragically during a freak accident. Her entire body had to be stitched back together in such a horrific fashion that her appearance is almost inhuman. Her vanity would not allow her to remain within society so she sought solace within the Side Show. Lorraine's hate for beauty has led her to stitch and disfigure dolls to reflect her image.

Willard (The Lizard Boy)

Left at the Side Show as a baby, LeRoux took him as her own as she embraced the oddity of his scales and freakish nature. LeRoux's desire for Willard to embrace his deformity has caused conflict due to Barnabus' desire to exploit it. Barnabus would starve and neglect Willard for days to bring out his feral nature to enhance the show as Willard mangled and devoured the animals tossed within his swamp.

Rikkets (The Clown)

Rikkets uses his clown makeup to get close to his next victim, especially children. Known to torture and play with his victims for weeks alongside his other clown brothers; the clowns have lured many a victim to laugh no more.

Reyah (RAY-UH)

Born allergic to sunlight or any artificial light, her skin would start boiling, blistering, and charring if exposed to any. She lived a life in total darkness until one day she went to a doctor to try and find a cure. Instead, the doctor tortured her. He took joy in putting Reyah under bright lights and laughed as her flesh cooked. Now Reyah is trapped in the dark again, released from the book. With wounds that will never heal and pain that will never fade...but wait...maybe she can heal herself...maybe if she takes the flesh from people with healthy skin she can replace her own. Reyah is determined to be beautiful and play in the sun, all she needs is a few more pieces of flesh. Reyah is waiting for the next group of people to get lost in the cave.

Garry and Larry and Maw (Moonshiner's)

Moonshiners since birth, Garry and Larry took over for their paw when he met an unfortunate end. Maw soon took things a little too far as she bgan disposing of revenuers. More revenuers brought more bodies, more bodies brought more revenuers. Unfortunately for Garry, Larry, and Maw - Larry was not a good shot and his poor aim brought about an explosion which trapped them within the cave where their spirits still remain warding off revenuers and making moonshine.

Sofia Boudreaux

Sofia Boudreaux worked in a kitchen in New Orleans til she lost her job for being too inventive with her recipes. Cold and hungry, she was picked up by Barnabus Hale's Menagerie of the Macabre Traveling Side Show and promised a chef position where she could experiment with the "sweetest" meats she had ever tasted. Now she can no longer control herself when the smell of human flesh is in her presence and begs to gorge herself on their blood and gnaw the flesh off their bones.

Longmire

A spawn of the Sideshow family. His parents died early on in his life and now he has been raised by the other Side Show workers. Freakishly huge in all aspects, Longmire has been exploited by Barnabus as a main attraction.

Kandy

Not much is known about Kandy. What little is known is that he joined the Menagerie and uses his stitched on faces due to his allergies with clown makeup. Sadly he has to have new victims to keep the faces fresh. Kandy utilizes sweet smells of cookies and cotton candy to lure his victims close. So beware of the sweet smeels of cookies and cotton candy: you might find yourself face to face with Kandy.

Horace Lyncher (Stitch)

Horace is a legendary serial killer; joining the Menagerie as a serial killer seemed to fit with this family. Unfortunately Horace's luck ran out when he was seen dumping fresh bodies into the bed of his truck. During a high speed chase Horace lost control of his truck and careened down a mountainside. The police continued the search but fortunately Barnabus and the Menagerie found Horace first. Several surgeries and sacrificial trophies of Horace's collection later; "Stitch" was born to the Menagerie. Stitch was literally stitched together and remains a living tribute to his past and future victims.

Mahala Rae and Katherine Elizabeth

A ventriloquist, Mahala Rae was shunned and exiled from her hometown because of her illness and her profession. To survive on the streets, she was forced to sell all of her dummies with the exception of one. When the sideshow came to town, Mahala found her new home. She enjoys adding leftover patrons to her collection of dummies.

Katherine, the kidnapped daughter of the U.S. Marshal, was given to Mahala Rae by Barnabus. Mahala was instructed to dispose of her in a "special" way. Katherine became Mahala's first and favorite living dummy. Katherine's transformation has changed her into something not even Barnabus believed possible.

CC Killjoy

Born to the Amazing Killjoys; a legendary high wire husband and wife act from Russia, CC loomed in the shadow wanting only to be a clown. Her father despised her group of friends, entertainment and desire to be a clown, so he began beating CC. CC had also caught the attention of Barnabus and he slowly lured the young girl into his world. CC seemingly fell under a spell and became Barnabus' minion of menace. CC only laughed teh day her parents fell to their deaths and that menacing look remains on CC's clown face.

Isaac Payne (Spaz)

Isaac was born with a condition that made him have violent spasms whenever he was under strong emotional situations. After an accident with a neighbors child, his family being of high stature, decided to leave Isaac with a family he deserved. Barnabus Hale's Menagerie became that new home. "Spaz" took on new life as yet another attraction within the Menagerie of the Macabre.

Elijah "Eli" Owens

The man wgi would eventually become known as "Brother Eli" (supposedly because his mother told him he "talked like an old southern man" - before he sewed her mouth shut, cut off her head, and stuffed it into a birdcage) feels that life itself is a sideshow, made up of games and challenges, freakshows and performances. He would often find those whom he felt were taking life too seriously and try to show them the fun they were missing. This usally involved making his subject the star attraction in Eli's own personal freakshow, using a straight razor to deform them in whatever way he deemed funniest. Sometimes he would even go a more theatrical route using his victims in games.

Scudder Hale (LockJaw)

Barnabus Hale's nephew that joined the Menagerie as a rowstey. One morning while setting up a tent, one of the cables snapped and took most of Scudder's hands and jaw with it. Still alive, Barnabus had Scudder fixed with a metal jaw and hands and added him to the Sideshow as a new attraction.
